During the days after wash day, especially once your hair has air dried, keep it moisturized! I constantly moisturize my hair with natural oils, such as coconut, carrot and argon. It is crucial you get to know the type of hair you have, and what products benefit your curls. Most of your journey will consist of trial and error with many product combinations and styles; which you’ll eventually understand what actually works and what’s the best combination of products. I also recommend buying the empty spray bottles, you can find at any dollar store or Walmart. This small tool will help you to easily moisturize and revive your curls for “next day” curls. I mix in leave-in conditioners and oils into the water mixture and apply that to my curls after wash day.

Styling my hair
After washing and deep conditioning, its time for the crucial part of styling your hair. Good practices to pick up would be sectioning your hair applying product throughout your entire scalp. It is crucial for you to section your hair, that way the product is evenly disbursed throughout. Usually I apply my leave-in conditioner first, then other conditioner, and curling cream. Also coconut oil is applied in the scalp and ends for moisture for when my hair dries. When I have a lot of time, I finger coil my hair by sectioning almost every curl and coiling it; this gets your curls accustomed to their natural pattern, and will eventually curl on its own as the hair becomes healthier.
